![]() Since IMRT usually uses the multileaf collimator (MLC) to produce beam intensity modulation in dose delivery, developing an efficient and precise leaf sequencing algorithm becomes essential. IMRT can significantly improve the outcome of radiotherapy and is being used to treat many different cancer sites such as brain, head-and-neck, lung, breast, and prostate effectively ( 1). The aim of the radiation dose delivery is to achieve adequate dose coverage at the target, while sparing the surrounding health tissues. In conclusion of experimental comparison performed, our algorithm can generate photon beam in IMRT dose delivery with lower monitor unit, number of segment and LTD compared to the Xia’s and Langer’s algorithm.
